This month CMI is releasing a new white paper on Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM), otherwise known as tiered storage. By continuously and automatically monitoring for ways to push data into least-cost storage, an effectively implemented tiered storage solution can help reduce the cost of data storage, administration, and amount of network bandwidth needed. It can also simplify resource sharing and ensure that data needed to comply with industry requirements and government regulations is safely stored, and can be quickly located and retrieved.
